They stretch along Beach Avenue from the breakwater at the mouth of the Kennebunk River to Lord’s Point for 1 1/2 miles. Sidewalks extend the whole way for those interested in combining exercise and people watching. Lifeguards are on duty from 9 AM to 5 PM at Mother's and Gooch's beaches.

Gooch's Beach; Gooch’s is one of the more popular beaches attracting beachcombers, castle builders, body surfers, swimmers and boarders. Located on Beach Avenue, Gooch’s Beach is the place to go when the weather worsens and the surf gets too rough for swimmers.

Mothers Beach; Located on the west end of Beach Avenue, Mothers Beach is tucked in a sheltered cove and is a perfect sand beach, the smallest of the Kennebunk Beaches. With a playground on the beach and gentle waves, it is popular with families.

For more seclusion we suggest Parson’s Beach and Goose Rocks Beach. Stroll along Parson’s Way, a path that overlooks the Atlantic Ocean, to Walker’s Point, former President Bush’s Summer home.
